Lync Web Scheduler - The meeting information could not be saved

im not sure that the published external site for lync web scheduler actually performs a pass at a syncronization of the actual abs files... it looks like its performing live name resolution queries against your mail server, which is the reason for the SMTP config in IIS. i still see numerous numbers of post's all over the internet though of people with the same problems.. im thinking on openeing a ticket with the boys at redmond for this, i will surely let you guys know what the resolution is if i do..

I still have the same problem and didn't manage to solve it yet! I'm not sure how does the Lync Web Scheduler externally sync the address book ? This must be a bug or something!

Is there anybody that had this and manage to solve it?

also having the same issue... no name resolution is able to be done from external website when adding participants. have followed the setup document step by step with no resolution to this. i see that numerous people are having the same issue, im wondering if anyone has opened a case with microsoft about this?

Bump.

I too am having this issue. But, it does not matter if I am inside or outside. If I have a recipient listed and the checkbox selected to send the e-mail it fails. If I remove the recipient and the uncheck the checkbox to send the e-mail it schedules just fine.

I have done wireshark traces on both the front-end, director, Exchange Hub Transport and the AD servers. I think the problem has to do with the LDAP lookup against AD. I have followed the setup guide to the letter. I have even created a user account with"Send As" permissions down our entire AD and set it up just like a BES account making it a member of the "View-Only Organization Management" group and giving it access to all my Exchange databases! I have also added the IP address of the Front-End and Director servers to the correct SMTP connector in the Exchange environment. NOTHING WORKS!

What should happen is if the web scheduler cannot do an LDAP lookup or cannot find or resolve the SMTP address it should just drop the e-mail onto the SMTP server and allow it to try and deliver it. How will this work if you are including an e-mail address in the invitation to an address that is outside your organization? The LDAP lookup will never find the e-mail address and abjectly fail!

Microsoft and the developers need to create a better, more detailed installation guide.

Hello All,

I've deployed Microsoft Lync Web Scheduler in my company and am having the same issue!!! 

 

Internal

1. Access to https://<fe EE name>/scheduler - Access the web scheduler, add participants and send invite successfully

External

1. Access to https://<lync ext name>/scheduler - Log in successfully to Web Scheduler and create a meeting without send invite to participants successfully. But if i choose the option to send invite to participants it gives me an error when i try to save and send.

It gives me "The meeting information could not be saved. Please try again

Having the same issue with the Web Scheduler. Works internally, but not externally. Ran wireshark against the FE (Standard Edition) and saw the traffic to our Exchange server when I made the meeting appointment inside the network using the Pool FQDN but there is NO smtp traffic initiated when working externally.

Hello All,

I also am experiencing the exact same issue and have seen this problem reported on other Lync Forums as well. As long as an email address is present in the 'attendee' window WebScheduler cannot 'send and save'.  I ran Wireshark capture on port 25 (SMTP) on the FE server when running a test from both the internal and external sites - SMTP data was present on the successful internal site Meeting, but no SMTP data was captured wen trying from the External site. Thins seems to indicate that there is obviously something different between the External site and Internal site in terms of the way it has access to the SMTP relay server or account. If this is an Edge or Firewall issue then more information needs to be provided in order to get this configured properly.

I have the same issue.

But my experience is:

-if I uncheck "People dialing in by phone will bypass the lobby"

and window participants email is clear and uncheck "Send meeting invitation to participants"

-then meeting ticket is created


Mail server in IIS is set of course

 

 

note:

AD is without Exchange

In other organization I have Lync standard with EX 2010 and there Web scheduler work fine

Hi,

    In our deployment i have tested using  https://<fe std name>/scheduler for external access also. I used TMG firewall for accessing it from outside and it is working fine. i am trying the other scenario to findout where it fails. Right now no success. I will update thread with my findings.

Hi Sharon,

    For external access are you are you able to resolve user Name? If no then can you verify the external url point to same pool where user is homed? If User is homed in pool1 and you are trying to create meeting with pool2 url then user resolution fails and which will fail meeting creation also.

 

So to work Lync scheduler If user is homed at Pool1 use pool1 url and if homed at pool2 then for those users use pool2 url.

I follow this document step by step. And as i told before, it works fine inside the network.

And Rohit,

Yes i did the same configuration to both Web Sites
- Lync Server Internal Web Site
- Lync Server External Web Site

 

Any other help???
